GRAND ARMY MUSEUM
The Grand Army of the Republic Hall and Museum in Lynn is one of the last extant buildings in the United States still used for its original purpose — to honor the men who fought to save the Union during the Civil War.

LYNN COMMONS
Over 30 years have passed since the Lynn Commons were rehabilitated in 1987. The park has great historic importance to the city of Lynn and the Commons need repairs. This master planning process for Lynn Commons was initiated in July 2010 to help the City of Lynn develop a long range plan for improvements to the park.

COMMERCIAL FACADE PROGRAM
Lynn's Commercial Facade Program provides grant assistance to businesses located in the downtown area for new signage, lighting and awnings, or a combination of the three.
The program began in October of 2009 and has improved more than 100 storefronts of downtown businesses since its inception, with a commitment to several more businesses in the future. -

STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS
The Department of Community Development carry’s out a variety of streetscape and public infrastructure projects designed to reduce blight and support economic development. Examples include the installation of antique style lighting street lighting, concrete sidewalk restoration, tree plantings and major intersection and street work.

PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENTS
The Department of Community Development works with the Parks & Recreation Department facilitating and managing a variety of playground improvements. From major park overhauls such as the recently completed Barry Park project to smaller initiatives such as Sagamore Street Park, Community development plays an important role in rehabilitating our public play spaces.
